Medication Information

Ablify (aripiprazole) – Used to treat Schizophrenia.

Adderall (amphetamine)  – Used to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children, adolescents and adults.    

Ativan (lorazepam)   – Used to treat symptoms of anxiety, irritability, and insomnia.  It may also be used to calm people before surgical procedures.  Lorazepam is also used to prevent severe alcohol withdrawal symptoms (delirium tremens, or “DTs”), and to stop convulsions in people with epilepsy.

BuSpar (buspirone) – Used to treat generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).

Celexa (citalopram) – Used to treat Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD).

Clozaril® (clozapine) –  Used to treat Schizophrenia.

Cymbalta (duloxetine) – Used to treat major depressive disorder.

Depakote (divalproex sodium) – Valproic Acid – Used to treat bipolar disorder.

Effexor (venlafaxine) – Used to treat Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), panic disorder and social anxiety disorder (social phobia).

Geodon (ziprasidone)  – Used to treat schizophrenia, acute agitation associated with schizophrenia (injection), and acute manic and mixed episodes of bipolar disorder.

Haldol (haloperidol)    Used to treat schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders.

Invega (paliperidone) – Used to treat Schizophrenia.

Klonopin (clonazepam)   – Used to treat seizure disorders (such as Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, akinetic myoclonic, and absence [also known as petit mal] seizures), and panic disorder, with or without agoraphobia.

Lamictal (lamotrigine)  –  Used to treat seizures (epilepsy) in adults and children as well as bipolar disorder (manic-depressive disorder). That means lamotrigine will help to delay the time to occurrence of mood episodes. Some patients with rapid-cycling bipolar disorder (four or more mood episodes in one year) have been treated with lamotrigine by itself.

Lexapro (escitalopram) –  Used to treat Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD).

Lithium – Used to treat manic depression (bipolar disorder).

Luvox (fluvoxamine) – Used to treat obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).

Paxil (paroxetine) – Used to treat Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), social anxiety disorder (social phobia), panic disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD).

Prolixin (fluphenazine)  – Used to treat Schizophrenia.

Prozac (fluoxetine) – Used to treat depression.

Remeron (mirtazapine)   Used to treat Major Depressive Disorder (MDD).

Risperdal (risperidone) –  Used to treat Schizoprenia and bipolar disorder.

Ritalin (methylphenidate)   – Used to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children, adolescents and adults.

Seroquel (quetiapine) –  Used to treat Schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Strattera (atomoxetine)  – Used to treat children over 6 years old, adolescents, and adults with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Tegretol (carbamazepine)    – Carbamazepine is an anticonvulsant medication that is most commonly used to treat seizures in patients with epilepsy. Although epilepsy is the only FDA approved indication, carbamazepine is also used to treat bipolar disorder and several pain syndromes.

Trileptal (oxcarbazapine) – Used to treat bipolar disorder and neuropathic pain.

Topamax (topiramate) – Used to treat  tremors, nerve pain, eating disorders, alcohol dependence, and bipolar disorder.

Wellbutrin (bupropion) – Used to treat Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and to help people quit smoking (smoking cessation).

Xanax (alprazolam)   – Used to treat panic disorder (with or without agoraphobia), certain types of anxiety disorders (such as generalized anxiety disorder), and for short-term relief of anxiety symptoms.

Zoloft (sertraline) – Used to treat depression, Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Premenstural Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), as well as  Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) in adults and children. 

Zyprexa (olanzapine) –  Used to treat Schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
